A little bit of me...

FamilyGoals In Life"Me" Time

Welcome to a little piece of my life....

I am the Daughter of two wonderful parents. They raised me to realize that a person is only as good as their word and to treat everyone as you truly would want to be treated. I always make sure to people I encounter leave a little happier than they were before they met me. My legacy to my Daughter will hopefully be that everyone that met me has nothing but good things to say about me. Everything I do, I do for my children and all of my family.

Since my Father passed away in 2001 from a 6 month short battle with lung & liver cancer, I have been protective & helped my Mom in every way possible. She is legally blind and has a lung condition which has disabled her and kept her from being able to work. I have a very large extended family. I only have one Brother, but my  Mom was one of 8 children and my Dad was one of ten children. I have many, many cousins that I consider to be as close as brothers and sisters. And it is always a large gathering when we get together for birthdays & holidays. I love being part of such a close and loving family. We are always there for each other.

My ancestry is quite an unusual mix. My Great-Grandfather, on my Mother's side, was born and lived in Scotland until he was 10. He migrated here with his parents, and settled in Kentucky when he was older. He married a Cherokee Indian, which became my Great-Grandmother. I also have Cherokee Indian on my Father's side of the family. There is also German and English in my heritage. I have always wanted to travel and learn more about my Scottish heritage, since it is the one I know the least about. My parents both lived close to their Cherokee heritage, and they were taught about both their Indian and German heritage. Maybe when my Daughter is out of high school, our Mother & Daughter trip could be to Scotland.
