The industry is trending to more and more data-driven nowadays. As businesses are becoming significantly reliant on data, analytics is reshaping business operations and enabling new revenue streams. As a result, many traditional occupations are exposed to analytics as well as many new jobs have been created in this field. The Data Analytics and Business Analytics Minors are offered for individuals who are interested in adding the fundamental analytics skills to their majors.
The curriculum for the Data Analytics Minor and Business Analytics Minor involves development of essential analytics principles and skills. Each minor requires 16 credit hours.
With prerequisites MATH 215 (or MATH 160) and PF106 completed, the Business Analytics Minor is designed for current students in non-technical majors with an opportunity to gain necessary analytics skills while majoring in their programs. Students learn to manipulate, visualize, and analyze data through a sequence of courses, apply basic analytics methods to solve business problems, and effectively communicate the results.
